Default Chipping

I'm sure this is a topic that has been thrown around here many many times,
so not to beat a dead horse but.....

I'm considering chipping my B6 A4....does anyone have any experience with
Audi service and the new chip? Not necessarily what you've heard...but what
you've experienced. Ever been told you have voided your warranty, or that
the chip actually is the source of the problem? Any declined service due to
the chip, maybe they didn't even notice it was in there? And I don't mean
LOF service either.

thanks everyone

nick i have a 99 a4 1.8t and i just had apt tuning chip my car, and all i
can say is OMFG!! what a difference. it's like adding another cylinder IMO.
one of the guys who works there has a new a4 which is chipped and he has no
problems with it at all. it's a bit pricy but its worth it. i asked them a
lot of questions before i had it done. at least on my car they can allow you
to switch programs if you wish via the cruise controal stalk. so you can
bring it in to the dealer and they wont know it is chipped.
I have a 99 and when i had it chipped it manifested the underlying
problem of two bad coil packs. i replaced them and have been driving it for
a few days with zero problems. i also have the controversial n75j(race)
valve. she runs smooth as silk. the guys at apt are super cool and they know
their shit! if you want to talk to them shoot me an email and i'll give you
their number and names. chip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do It !!! I have a 2000 TT & have had no problems with the dealer ( as
far as the chip goes ). I've also got a Borla exhaust & the difference
it made is so noticeable that all my future cars will be chipped.

I don't understand. The dealer has not noticed the chip? I though that
the second the hooked up their interface, they would know.

He probably means the difference in performance - a 20% hike in peak power
makes quite a difference ;o)

The only occasion when I wish my car was not chipped - i.e. stock, is on
extremely slippery snow.
