My A4 1.8T q seems to kind of slow surge from a standing start. It may
be me but my wife who is not a jack rabbit starter said the same thing. We have had the car for one week now so I am adjusting to the Triptronic after driving a Jetta stick for 19 years on two cars. The question is: does the car have a slow start which is symptomatic of the transmission? I am not one to blast from a standing start so maybe I need to adjust my pedal pressure. Also I tried a Passat 1.8T 4Motion and it really had a lag from a standing stop. I was told by the salesman that there is a $300 CAD part that will solve this lag problem. Would this part also help the A4? Thanks in advance --> |

It reduces the shift delay between gears: http://tinyurl.com/2pody Not sure if you have a B5 or a B6. This one is for a B5, but they may have something similar for the B6. Cheers, Pete |

Boosts the HP to ~220 I am told. > >http://tinyurl.com/2pody > >Not sure if you have a B5 or a B6. This one is for a B5, but they may >have something similar for the B6. Not sure of the 'B' thing. Any comment on the 'surge' at the start? I am thinking it is related to getting a feel for the Triptronic. My Chevy S15 4.2l truck jumps off the line too; too big an engine and too light a truck but it works better with 700 lbs in the back but that is no way to get better grip. |
