It may be alright (I haven't read the performance specs on it) but with the body design they gave it, they should have just stuck with calling it a Magnum. I shouldn't have to look twice to tell whether I'm looking at a Magnum or the new Charger. I'm interested to see how well it sells, but I think they made a mistake by badging that design as a Charger. Also, what's up with making it a 4-door? Whatever happens, I think they would have been more successful if, like Ford, they would have gave it more features reminiscent of the older design. I mean, when you look at the new Mustang, you obviously see it as new, but there is no mistaking that it was bred from the late 60's Stangs! And, you don't have to do a double take to know that you are looking at a Mustang. By its sheer design, it is perfectly clear what you are looking at. Also, Ford knew it wasn't rocket science to keep the Mustang a coupe. How many true muscle cars have more than 2 doors? Not many. I usually consider myself more of a Dodge man, but given the choice between a new Charger and a new Mustang, I'd have to go with the Mustang. The styling is smok'n and it has V-8 that kicks! I am hoping that Dodge redesigns the Charger as a 2-door and with more features reminiscent of the '69 Charger of Dukes of Hazzard fame. You can see a very slight hint of the old Charger's rear fenders in the new Charger, but you kind of have to squint and use a little imagination. Reviving a classic shouldn't require so much effort on the part of the consumer to see the similarities.

I feel that they have made it extremely bad. It may be fast, and a lot better on the performance side than the old charger, but it just isn't as cool. People wouldn't stop and gasp when they saw one pass, wouldn't tremble to the rumble of the huge, loud, Hemi engine. The old chargers are just so much cooler.
