Hi,
I'm having a tricky time starting my '98 Isuzu Hombre 4 cylinder pickup in temps below 5-10F (I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota). Someone told me there was a "cold start" method which involves leaving the ignition on for several minutes before turning it over. I also heard something about turning the ignition on and off three times, putting the accelerator to the floor, and then starting. It seems like I've had some luck with leaving the ignition on for some time, but not with the 3 times thing. Is there any truth to these methods, or is it merely auto-mechanical voodoo? Is there an appropriate technique for starting a vehical of this type in sub-zero, or near sub-zero temps? Thanks! --> |
