Just bought a new Sienna LE. The dealer says the front passenger seat
airbags come out of the seat about chest-high. The bag, I'm told, emerges from what looks like a perfect seam in the upholstery on the side of the seat. About 16" below this is the SRS Airbag notice. I don't believe the dealer. Nobody would design an airbag that has to blast through an upholstery seam. Can somebody give me the real info here? I want to modify a seat cover for these seats but need to know where the air bag really comes from! (I suspect it is from the hinge area, where the SRS notice is.) Thanks. |

I'm told that when you have a crash you don't even know the air bags go off. I hope thats true because watching from about 50 feet it was quite a bang. Dale -- |

I ordered front seat covers from the Toyota dealer for my 2004 Sienna. When
they came in, it said on the instructions they were for seats without air bags, so I had to return them and reorder the correct ones. I have not figured out where the seat air bags come out of, but I will probably find out when the correct seat covers come in. When the dealer ordered the original seat covers, he did not think to specify the seats had air bags. This is something to keep in mind of you buy an after market cover that may not allow the air bag to deploy correctly. If it becomes obvious where the bags come out when I install the correct covers I will post it. Charles Ranheim |

it is probably on the door side of the seats on the back support. there is
normally a tag that says that it has them, if its not there there probably isn't any. Howdy, I assume that I am missing some thing here, but would not that mean that the airbag is behind the passenger? Thanks, -- Kenneth If you email... Please remove the "SPAMLESS." |

Please remove the "SPAMLESS." Sorry. What I meant was from the SIDE of the seat back. If you look at the side of the seatback (the door side), about chest high, there are several sewn seams (just like all the other seats). The service guy told me the airbag blasts out of one of these seams. |
