Default Delay in getting an estimate - how long is reasonable?

My car was towed there recently due to at least a broken axle, although there may be other problems. For several days, they haven't even looked at it to give me an estimate, and they won't tell me when they will get around to it.

I understand I didn't have an appointment, but not even knowing what is wrong and how long it will have to be in there makes it difficult to plan.

My question is, how long is reasonable to wait for an estimate? When should I consider having it towed somewhere else for quicker service?

Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
